While “The Big Three” - Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, make up the "Golden Route" of Japan, these spots are currently seeing the highest levels of overtourism. We’ve been receiving more inquiries from our customers, especially those traveling in large family groups, asking for destinations that are less crowded, particularly for those bringing young kids in strollers or elderly family members in wheelchairs.
Today, Tabigo Japan is here to share some cities that locals love to visit. These are excellent alternatives for your itinerary, especially if you are a repeat traveller to Japan!
Nagoya (The “New Osaka”)
Nagoya is arguably the most underrated city for Malaysian families. It features wide, flat streets (very stroller-friendly) and provides the same vibrant city vibes as Tokyo or Osaka, but with much less chaos.
